Dr. Shakir Jalaly (CEO)

Dr. Shakir Jalaly is a dedicated and knowledgeable banking specialist with extensive expertise in Islamic finance and banking. He holds PhD in Islamic Finance and Economy from Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar, along with a BSc and M-Phil in Islamic Banking and Finance from the International Islamic University Islamabad. With over a decade of experience, Dr. Jalaly has excelled in various roles within the banking industry, including positions as an Islamic Investment Specialist, Murabaha Investment Expert, Shariah Auditor, Deputy Chief of Islamic Banking Officer at Maiwand Bank, and Chief Islamic Banking Officer and BOM member at Ghazanfar Bank. In addition to his banking career, Dr. Jalaly has contributed numerous publications to reputable journals and has lectured at various universities. Recently, he became a certified member of the CSAA (Certified Shariah Advisor and Auditor) from the Auditing and Accounting Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI). Currently, he serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Bank-e-Millie Afghan, the national bank of Afghanistan.

Mr. Masood Khan Musa Ghazi(CFO)

Mr. Masood Khan Musa Ghazi is a Professional Banker, with more than two decades of experience. Mr. Ghazi had worked with United Nations and internationally funded development projects and coordinated with a variety of governments, NGOs and private consultants to modernize and improve Payments, Operations, internal control and financial systems. Among the experiences the most notable once are CEO of New Kabul Bank, Vice chairman of Afghanistan Banking Association, Financial advisor to the governor, Chief finance officer of DAB and Deputy Controller General. In 2010 his qualification and experience lead him to be assigned as conservator by DAB for smoothening the Kabul bank financial crises. Mr. Ghazi earned Master of Commerce with Specialization in Cost and Management Accounting from University of Peshawar and earned an associate membership affiliation of the Institute of Certified Public Accountant (ICPA) of Pakistan.

Mr. Hashmatullah Ateed (COO)

Mr. Hashmatullah Ateed is working for BMA as a COO since 2021. He is a banker by profession holding M.Phil. & BS in Islamic Banking & Finance from International Islamic University Islamabad. Mr. Ateed has a versatile working background, he has more than 10 years of experience in banks, non-bank financial institutions, Ministry of Finance, World Bank and USAID projects on different areas including but not limited to Compliance, Internal Control, Internal Audit, Islamic Finance, and Shariah Board.

Mr. Waheedullah Hakimi (CCO)

Mr. Waheedullah Hakimi is working with BMA as CCO since 2017.  Prior to his present position he worked with BMA as acting COO, Deputy Chief Credit Officer, Credit Disbursement General Manager, Deputy General Manager of Accounting and BoS Secretary. With his advanced level training in banking both inside and outside Afghanistan Mr. Hakimi successfully introduced new products and schemes in the Credit Department. He has completed his bachelor’s degree in economics from Kabul University, also he has completed Associate Degree in Business Administration Management from Berkeley College, New York, USA in 2010.  In 2005, Mr. Waheedullah Hakimi worked with Economics Faculty of Kabul University as a part-time lecturer.

MR. Taj Gul Haqmal (CIBO)

Mr. Taj Gul Haqmal’ having 17 years working experience in Banking Sector on managerial and executive level positions in different banks including New Kabul Bank (NKB), Afghanistan International Bank (AIB) and Bank-e-Millie Afghan (BMA). He did his Master degree in International Law (LLM) From Khatamunnabyeen University Kabul Afghanistan, Bachelor degree in the subjects of Islamic studies & education from the University of the Punjab Lahore Pakistan and got different certificates in banking sectors including ” Islamic banking certified course”  from national institute of banking and finance Islamabad Pakistan (NIBAF), “Unlocking Islamic Banking for SMEs Growth and Development” Held in Safi Landmark Kabul Afghanistan 2015 and IFRS 9 training certificate from AJMS and many other short courses certificates from different banks.
