Job Description:

The PIE Engineer will monitor project implementation at site, interact with the consultant on a day to day basis concerning implementation and take corrective measures.

Job Description

  • Manage the execution of the construction project.
  • Provide overall site monitoring, to ensure quality and on time completion of the project.
  • Carry out spot checks by making site visits to assess adequacy of supervision.
  • Review progress reports submitted by the consultant to assess project implementation and assist the BMA in taking/ communicating important decisions to the consultant to avoid potential delays.
  • Coordinate/ liaise with consultant, contractors and other parties concerning technical matters of the projects.
  • Ensure that the works are implemented in accordance with the technical specifications specified in the contract.
  • Ensure that the supervision consultant perform in accordance with the contract.
  • Recommend to BMA with respect to various contractual matters including approval of variations and extension of time.
  • Review the recommendations of the consultant on designs prepared by the contractor, method of implementation, final testing, commissioning of the project, etc and accord employer’s approval.
  • Review and verify the interim payment certificates (IPCs)/ invoices submitted by the consultant/contractor and recommend for payment.
  • Review and verify the final payment certificates submitted by the consultant/contractor and recommend for payment.
  • Any other related tasks given by the line manage

Job Requirements:

Education: Have a bachelor degree in civil engineering.

Experience: 5 years

Languages: Fluent in Dari, Pashto and English.

Proficiency in computer skills is necessary.

Proficiency in autocad and relevant software packages would be an added advantage.
