Compliance Committee

The Compliance Committee is a standing committee responsible for ensuring the bank continues to conduct its operations and activities ethically with the highest level of integrity and in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. It oversees the development, maintenance, and monitoring of national and international practices intended to satisfy the bank�s compliance obligations and to foster a compliance culture with laws, regulations, sector standards, and the bank's internal policies and procedures.

Scope and Responsibilities of Compliance Committee

The committee shall review and approve the bank�s AML/CFT Policy and manuals periodically.
The committee shall assess the AML/CFT framework for money laundering/financing terrorism risk.
Oversee the implementation of the AML/CFT policy and procedures.
Assist the Chief Compliance Officer in resolving issues related to AML/CFT non-compliance.
Ensure the adequacy and effectiveness of policies and programs to ensure the bank�s compliance with laws and regulations applicable to the business and any or all associated risks.
Approve a dedicated budget for AML/CFT compliance training programs on an annual basis.
Review and approve compliance action plans on a yearly basis.
Review and approve the compliance department organizational chart periodically to ensure there are enough employees within the compliance function to carry out their duties effectively.
Review and approve corrective action plans as per regulatory AML/CFT findings.
Appoint and dismiss the Chief Compliance Officer.
Ensure the compliance function has adequate and effective technology to strengthen the anti-money laundering and terrorist financing program within the bank.
Ensure the AML/CFT program of the bank is independently tested by a third party periodically.

Dr. Ahmad Khalid Hatam

Dr. Ahmad Khalid Hatam has 15 years of experience in the legal sector and has served as a consultant with national and international organizations. He has provided professional and advisory services to multinational organizations, financial and banking institutions, and government entities throughout his career. He has served as a Member of the Shariah Board for 6 years. Dr. Hatam obtained his PhD in Islamic Law and Jurisprudence from International Islamic University Islamabad and has extensively worked on Banking Law, Islamic Banking and Finance, Commercial Law, Tax Law, Labor Law, ADR, the Law of Negotiable Instruments, and Property Law.

Mr. Hamid Nooryar

Hamid Nooryar is an accomplished professional with a distinguished academic background, having earned his bachelor's degree from Oxford Brooks University of London. He boasts a multitude of prestigious qualifications including ACCA, CIA, CISA, CISM, and CFE, indicative of his commitment to excellence in his field. With an extensive career spanning 18 years, Hamid has garnered invaluable expertise in Internal Auditing, having served prominent roles within multinational and international organizations. His tenure includes notable positions such as Chief Internal Auditor in the banking sector and Director of Internal Audit in the telecommunication sector, where he consistently demonstrated exceptional leadership and proficiency in navigating complex audit landscapes.
